It was a beautiful day for quilting!
I don't know that it could have been better. Joanie allowed me to quilt this beautiful quilt. It is called Strip Search and she used Bali Pops. They were so beautiful to work with. The sun was shining on the fresh snow, and I listened to an e-book from the public library. I used this panto for the first time, Splat, and I love it! I did have to stay stitch the edges 1/8" away because all the edges are cut on the bias.

I have been thinking about the vacation I had in August...
Bicycles are THE mode of transportation throughout much of Scandinavia, so we did the same. This is a common site in Amsterdam.
The first day of our trip we arrived in Belgium, but then took the train to Bruges. I found the pattern of the cobblestones fascinating. The beer in Belgium was incredible.
A storefront window... in Belgium. Not only are they known for their chocolate and beer, but also for their lace.

Packer Mania
We watched the game with our family and I managed to get one picture of the crew! I'll post a full family pic as soon as I get it from Amelia or Christina. I spent last week in Wisconsin, home of the Green Bay Packers, so I got a few cool pics which depict part of the Packer hysteria. Everywhere in Wisconsin you look it's a sea of green and gold.
Cakes from Wisconsin Bakery on 16th Street. I had to stop in to get some of their world famous creme puffs (they are located directly across the street from the hospital where my mom was), and this is what I saw! Only in Wisconsin!!!
And how about this - they took down the American flag and put up a HUGE Packer flag!!!
Football shaped cookies and cakes - Go Pack Go!!!

It's a real blizzard here in Wisconsin
I never thought I'd see the day that schools would be closed in Wisconsin. They even closed the mall last night at 5:00!! The wind was howling all night, and there are some pretty huge drifts. Here is a picture two days after the blizzard.
We don't have to go anywhere today, so I'll continue working on the paintstik art quilt that i brought. I can't wait until I can get to the quilting part. The stenciling, painting, and appliqué parts are not fun.
