ideas I have come up with recently. This picture is one from my design wall. I need to get it sewn together because many of the blocks are getting knocked off as I walk past them to get to one of my other (many other) things I am working on. Like placemats... and paintsticks...
and...this second picture is of a little tablecloth I purchased at Oxfam about eight years ago in England. I am thinking about quilting it. Have you quilted an old tablecloth?
I am linking up for Esther's WOW. http://estheraliu.blogspot.com/
A beautiful beautiful table cloth Mary and will look beautiful quilted and will last 100 years longer if you do. Just remembered the threads are thicker and the weave much tighter. So it will be much harder to quilt by hand. But it will be worth all the extra effort. Cheers Glenda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I also have an old linen embroidered tablecloth which I have thought about quilting...but still thinking about it. Would love to see what you decided on this one!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful tablecloth - I picked one up a while ago to try FMQ on, but haven't done it yet. One of these days...
ReplyDeleteI like your design wall quilt in progress, the pinwheel shapes it forms and then, secondarily, the offset rectangles. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteIf you go to Cindy Needhams blog...she sews on things like that - I hope to do this too :) Your table clothh looks just the thing!! She put coloured fabric under hers then the wadding and then the backing - they look terrific.
