12 Hours to Idaho - 7 Hexies Later

Well, we went back to Idaho again.  We were just there a few weeks ago, but we wanted to meet my husband's nieces who traveled from Wyoming.  It was so beautiful and green, but I don't have many pictures to show you.  I managed to get this picture of a lovely pioneer home and barn, just because I was behind the wheel at this time, and I can stop any time I like!!

I couldn't get any closer than this. I hope to get a new lens sometime in the new future.  I'd like a zoom.

This is the view from the pioneer cabin - on the other side of the road.
I wonder how long this home was lived in.  I wonder when they abandoned it, and moved down the road, or 10 miles from here, or across the state.
This particular homestead is in Weston Canyon, Idaho.  It is dotted with horse farms, and cattle ranches.

I think I am giving up on my needleturn applique project.  I don't think I have the patience for it.  I took some of the fabrics reserved for that project and started a hexie project.   I may incorporate both of them, along with the yo-yo's of the very same fabric - place them on a black background, and quilt around them, giving myself lots of plain black fabric to do some fun doodling.

After 24 hours of driving, this is what I accomplished.  Not great, but not that bad.  There were many hours where I sat doing nothing, just listening to an audio book.

I always wonder where people have moved to as well when I see old wooden homes such as the ones you photographed. I think your photos are great!

I started making hexies on a long long plane trip. They are fabulous activity to do while traveling. Nice work.
