Kaffe Fassett Beauty

I quilted one of my favorite pantos on this pretty one that Angi made. What a fun quilt.  Her choice of striped fabric for that narrow border is brilliant.   I love Kaffe Fassett's fabrics.

I have a jelly roll on the shelf that I bought back in January at Road 2 CA, and  I plan on pairing it with Kona black.  Maybe Christmas vacation?  Who knows?  Until then, I am happy to have a few customer quilts to work on - they sure provide variety to my day.  That is definitely one of the benefits of quilting for others, wouldn't you agree?

The panto really shows on the back - fun!

I Still Love the Chevron

I just finished this for Peg, and I always love her fabric choices.  I think this is the fifth chevron I've quilted, and I've tried to each quilt differently.  On this one, I did each row differently as well.  Thanks, Peg, for letting me finish your quilt!  Thanks for visiting my blog!

To all my machine quilting friends, thanks for visiting, too!  Who understands how much work we put into each quilt better than we do??  I hope you get plenty of quilty time this week, and your tension cooperates!

A Quilt for Faith

This cute baby quilt was made by a customer and friend for a new little baby, Faith.

She asked me to write her name on it, which I think turned out pretty well in the large strip.  I used one layer of Hobbs 80/20, and Metro light pink thread.

Adorable Flannel Baby Quilt

This cute baby quilt was such a pleasure to do!  My machine just loved the thread and the flannel, and so did I.  It is done freehand - my favorite.  This is Cathy's gift to a lucky little one.
After it is washed, the raw edge of the flannel will curl up and give the flowers dimension.

I Think I May Make It

This quilt has become so popular on all the popular online sites and  so many people want to know the name of the pattern.  (I posted it further down in the blog post but I thought I would add it up here in the first paragraph.). The pattern is called Rising Stars by Cozy Quilt Designs..

Well, I finished this quilt just in the nick of time. I am taking a break from doing the hand binding, and hand stitching the casings on four quilts so they can be hung in my guild's quilt show tomorrow. This is a UFO that sat on my shelves for years, at least the jelly rolls did, and then I started this quilt back in January. I wasn't quite sure just how I was going to quilt it until I just happened upon an IMQA calendar that had this same pattern in it! Wow! I loved the way Debbie Treusch had broken down the elements in this by framing each 16 patch. I contacted Debbie and let her know that her quilt inspired me and she wished me luck with my quilt! She is one talented lady, and has won many awards in the quilting world.

The pattern is called Rising Stars by Cozy Quilts. Be sure to tell them I referred you :)
Of course I had to put my own creativity on it, so I changed up the fills, the sashing, the feather style, as well as the cc's in the 16 patches. I am a bit disappointed that I did not use a contrasting thread in the white. The stitch definition shows up beautiful in natural light, but in artificial light it gets lost. In the future I will use a slight contrast. After all, why do all that custom quilting to have it get lost? This will most likely be my last personal quilt I work on for quite awhile, as I have a few customer quilts that I am really excited to start on!

Intentional Pressure or Poor Planning?

I have a lot of energy, and my brain is always going 100 miles an hour. I have grandiose dreams, and high expectations.  I thrive on challenges and quite possibly chaos. Because I am going 100 mph,  i overestimate how much I can reasonably get done, but I
always get it done!  This is a good example, our local quilt guild show is on the 17th and this is shill on the frame! I finally got to the feathers last night, my favorite part.

I have one more that needs to be bound. Guess i better get on it. ...i hope to show you the finished product early next week.
